Feasibility Analysis of Biomass Hydrochar Blended Coal Injection for Blast Furnace

It is critical for the iron and steel industry to achieve green transformation development by effectively utilizing abundant biomass resources in blast furnace ironmaking. In this paper, four types of typical were carbonized upgraded using hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) method, metallurgical performance prepared hydrochar injection was systematically tested. The results show that HTC treatment could remove volatile matter dissolved mineral elements so had characteristics high fixed carbon low ash alkali metal content. Moreover, good grindability excellent combustion performance, which meet requirements injection. Finally, blended coal wood chip examined. observed when ratio less than 15%, it would not affect injection, potential safety hazard caused explosive be resolved mixing with anthracite. application only alleviate current energy shortage situation, but also great significance realize “carbon peak” industry.
